i used unsharp mask and color was just edited with the hole convert to grayscale ( this is dun because even thought this photo is black and white there still is color to it) then i just adjust the color levels with apple l (or image...adjustments...levels)

Looks nice Case...have you ever tried adding a channel mixer adjustment layer instead of converting to grayscale? Before you add the layer, check out your channels and see which of RGB looks best. Then add the layer, select monochrome and mess with the levels, putting the most emphasis on the RGB that you liked best. Make sure they =100% though. Play around with it, I'd like to know what you think.
